First Baptist Missionary Church l formally announced their partnership with Crosswell Drive Elementary during their Partners in Education celebration weekend. On Saturday, November 5, a community-wide celebration was held from 10 AM-2 PM at Crosswell Park. The event featured fun, games, light refreshments, and brief remarks. The main goal is for the two organizations was to introduce themselves to each other and begin the process of building a lasting and trusting relationship. Twenty church members have already signed up for the Beyond the Bell after school program.
The celebration continued on Sunday at 10:45 AM. First Baptist Missionary Church dedicated the church service to the Partners in Education initiative and invited the Crosswell students, parents/guardians, faculty/staff, and others to attend. Again, the main goal is to continue building the relationship, and Pastor George Windley, Jr. will presented a small surprise from the church to Principal McFadden.
The Sumter Partners in Education program is a joint venture between the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce and Sumter’s public and private schools. By establishing and maintaining creative, quality partnerships to support Sumter’s schools, our community is making a positive difference for Sumter’s children.
